Waiver Wire Picks

This weeks edition of Waver Wire Picks takes us to 5 players that were recently inserted in their respective teams starting line-up and have been productive so far. Here's my Top 5....

1. Nate Robinson - New York Knicks - Point Guard

Chris Duhon is out, Nate Robinson is in. After languishing in Mike D' Antoni's doghouse in the month of December, Robinson is now in good graces with his coach and has been inserted in the starting line-up. In his first game as a starter, Lil' Nate notched 13 pts,  4 rebs, 7 asts and 1 stl. He followed it up with 26 pts, 5 3's, 4 rebs, 6 asts and a stl. against the Cavs. He's probably not in your waiver but grab him fast  if he was recently dropped from your league as he has potential in points, 3's, assists, and steals.

2. Ryan Hollins - Minnesota Timberwolves - Center

Wolves coach Kurt Rambis decided against starting Kevin Love as he likes the energy that Love brings to the second unit .  Enter Ryan Hollins. In the 4 games since being a starter, Hollins has averaged 30 mins, 13.5 pts, 3.5 rebs and 1 blk. Although his rebound is low for a 7-footer, consider that he plays with two of the top rebounders in the league in Al Jefferson and Kevin Love. But do you know what the best part is? They are 4-0 when he starts! Expect him to keep starting as long as the Wolves are winning.

3. Donte Greene - Sacramento Kings - Small Forward

Donte Greene has been starting for the Kings for a while but seems to be heating up after having scored a career-high 31 pts with 7 rebs and 2 blks against the Phoenix Suns. Greene is an intriguing player as he has potential in 3's and blocks. Keep in mind though that Jason Thompson is set to return from his two-game absence due to a funeral, but should still hold value even then.

4. Jarvis Hayes - New Jersey Nets - Small Forward

Interim coach Kiki Vandeweghe wanted Chris Douglas-Roberts to a spark plug off the bench and decided to bring Jarvis Hayes to the starting unit for his size and defense. In his first start, Hayes scored 18 pts with 8 rebs and has averaged 10.3 pts, 4.5 rebs 1.3 3's and 1.3 stls in 4 games as a starter. While his offensive output and rebs aren't much to look at, his stls and 3's are solid . Plus he won't hurt you in any other category as he shoots really well from the field (50%) and the line (100% so far as a starter) and rarely turns the ball over (.8 TOs).

5. Jonas Jerebko - Detroit Pistons - Power Forward

Jonas Jerebko has again been re-inserted in the starting line-up and has averaged 11.5 pts, 1 3's,  7.5 rebs including a a 20-point outburst (9-9FGs, 2 3's) against the New Jersey Nets. He isn't a must own player right now as he still has to compete with Jason Maxiell and Charlie Villanueva for minutes but is definitely worth a look if you need rebounds.
