The Supers and The Stinkers

This week we have a new format for The Supers and The Stinkers. It will feature the Top 3 best performers of every position ( including a new sixth-man position) for The Supers and Top 2 worst players for The Stinkers. Here is today's edition....enjoy!

The Supers
( S-tat stuffing U-ltra P-roductive & E-fficient R-oto S-tuds)

Point-Guard:

1. Darren Collison - New Orleans Hornets

Stat Line: 27 pts (12-22 FGs, 1 3's, 2-4 FTs) 3 rebs, 9 ast, 4 stls and 4 TOs
Why he's on top: Monster numbers!! If Collison wasn't written on the back of his jersey, we would have thought it was Chris Paul playing.

2. Jason Kidd - Dallas Mavericks
Stat Line: 17 pts (5-9 FGs, 4 3's 3-4 FTs) 4 rebs, 12 asts, 3 stls and 1 TO.

Why he's 2nd best: Super line, but Collison's numbers are just to hard to ignore. He's a very close 2nd.

3. Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors
Stat Line: 25 pts ( 9-20 FGs, 1 3's, 6-6 FTs) 2 rebs, 9 asts, 2 stls and 3 TOs

Why he's solid: A very very solid line for the rookie, against Jason Kidd no less.

Shooting Guard:

1. Vince Carter - Orlando Magic
Stat Line: 48 pts ( 19-27 FGs, 6 3's, 4-4 FTs) 7 rebs, 2 asts and 2 TOs

Why he's on top: 48 friggin' pts that's why. Vinsanity's back with a vengence baby!!!

2. Jason Terry - Dallas Mavericks

 Stat Line: 36 pts ( 9-17 FGs, 6 3's , 12-13 FTs) 6 rebs, 9 asts, 3 stls and 3 TOs.

Why he's 2nd best: Because Vince Carter scored 48 friggin' pts that's why!!! While Terry had a more well-rounded game, how many times can you say score 48 pts in one night?!?

3. Monta Ellis - Golden State Warriors
Stat Line : 27 pts (10-23FGs, 2 3's 5-7FTs) 5 rebs, 5 asts, 4 stls and 5 TOs

Why he's solid: Filled the stat-sheet tonight, 5 TOs a downer though.

Small Forward:

1. Anthony Morrow - Golden State Warriors

Stat Line: 33 pts ( 12-20, 5 3's, 4-4 FTs) 11 rebs, 4 asts, 1 stl and 3 TOs.
Why he's on top: Started and did everything tonight. Pts and rebs are season high.

2. Peja Stojakavic - New Orleans Hornets

Stat Line: 29 pts (11-18 FGs, 5 3's 2-3 FTs) 9 rebs, 5 asts.
Why he's 2nd best: 61% from the field, 5 3's, 9 rebs with 0 TOs were super but Morrow just had better numbers.

3. Rashard Lewis - Orlando Magic

 Stat Line: 18 pts ( 5-9 FGs, 3 3's, 3-4 FTs) 4 rebs, 2 stls and 1 TO.

Why he's solid:  Some assist would have been nice but otherwise a solid line.

Power Forward:

1. Tim Duncan - San Antonio Spurs

Stat Line: 17 pts ( 8-17 FGs) 15 rebs, 1 asts 1 stl, 4 blks and 2 TOs.
Why he's on top: double-double, 4 blks huge and did damage in an efficient 33 mins.

2. David West - New Orleans Hornets

Stat Line: 27 pts ( 10-19 FGs, 7-7 FTs) 4 rebs, 3 asts 2 stl, and 3 TOs.
Why he's 2nd best: We were expecting a little more rebounds from West since Okafor was in foul trouble. Still solid though.

3.Lamar Odom - Los Angeles Lakers

Stat Line: 16 pts ( 6-13 FGs, 4-7 FTs) 10 rebs, 3 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk and 2 TOs
Why he's solid:Nice well-rounded double-double with Kobe and Bynum out. 57% from the stripe is terrible.

Center:

1. Pau Gasol - Los Angeles Lakers
Stat Line: 21 pts ( 8-20 FGs, 5-5 FTs) 19 rebs, 8 asts, 1 stl, 5 blks and 2 TOs.

Why he's on top: No Kobe? No bynum? No problem! Gasol flirted with  a triple-double with this monster stat line. 5 blks huge with limited games, almost assures you winning that category.

2 . Dwight Howard - Orlando Magic
Stat-Line: 25 pts ( 8-13 FGs, 9-13 FTs) 12 rebs, 2 asts, 1 stl, 4 blks and 5 TOs
Why he's 2nd best: Nice double-double but low FT% and high TOs were a drag.

3. Drew Gooden - Dallas Mavericks
Stat Line: 24 pts ( 8-14 FG, 8-8 FTs) 10 rebs, 2 asts, 1 stl, 1 blk and 4 TOs.
Why he's solid: Solid double-double with Erick Dampier out. Was a bigger factor than Dirk Nowitzki tonight.

Sixth Man:

1.Anthony Tolliver - Golden State Warriors

Stat Line: 14 pts ( 4-10 FGs, 6-6 FTs) 11 rebs, 1 ast, 2 blks and 2 TOs.
Why he's on top: Nice double-double off the bench. No one saw this coming except maybe, Don Nelson.

2. Manu Ginobili - San Antonio Spurs

Stat Line: 21 pts ( 7-11 FGs 3 3's 4-4 FTs )  1reb, 2 asts 1 stl, 1 blk and 2 TOs.
Why he's 2nd best : Sixth-man extraordinaire did everything in less than 30 mins. That's efficiency at its best.

3. Josh Howard - Dallas Mavericks

Stat Line: 25 pts ( 7-12 FGs, 1 3's 10-12 FTs) 3 rebs, 1 ast and 1 TO.
Why he's solid: Solid offensive effort, did little in everything else.

The Stinkers
(They stink, period.)

Point-Guard:

1. George Hill - San Antonio Spurs
Stat Line: 5 pts ( 2-8 FG's 1-1 FTs) 3 rebs, 1 asts and 1 TOs.

Why he's the worst: Single-digit scoring with poor FG% is going to hurt this week with very few games.

2. Rodrigue Beaubois - Dallas Mavericks
Stat Line: 0 everything except TOs (2).

Why he's bad: 2 TOs in less than 2 mins. I pity the fools who put him in their line-up.

Shooting Guard:

1. Shannon Brown - Los Angeles Lakers
Stat Line: 8 pts ( 3-13FGs 1 3's, 1-2 FTs) 1 reb, 3 asts and 1 blk.

Why he's the worst: Hurt your % big time with this performance.

2. CJ Watson - Golden State Warriors
Stat Line: 0 everything except TOs (1).
Why he's bad: 1 TO and 3 foul in 6 mins. Harsh.

Small Forward:

1. Richard Jefferson - San Antonio Spurs
Stat Line: 8 pts ( 2-9 FGs, 5-7 FTs) 2 reb and 2 asts.

Why he's the worst: Poor FG% and FT %, could have done more in 33mins.

2. Matt Barnes - Orlando Magic
Stat Line: 2 pts ( 2-5FGs 1 3's) 3 reb and 3 asts.

Why he's bad: Same as Jefferson, could have done more in 31 mins.

Power Forward:

1. Josh Powell - Los Angeles Lakers

Stat Line: 0 pts (0-3FGs) 2 rebs and 1 TO.

Why he's the worst: Poor FG% with 1 TO in 6 mins. ( with just 3 games, you can see we're scrapping down the bottom of the barrel.)

Center:
1. Emeka Okafor - New Orleans Hornets

Stat Line:  0 pts, ( 0-4 FGs) 2 rebs, 1 asts.
Why he's the worst: Was limited due foul trouble as he played just 9 mins. I guess guarding Dwight Howard does that to you.

2.Eduardo Najera - Dallas Mavericks
Stat Line: Did nothing.

Why he's bad: Started but played 3 useless mins. We saw this coming.
